La Datcha Expedition Yacht
La Datcha carries two helicopters and a three-person submersible, giving its guests ways to explore well beyond the deck. Built by Damen and launched in 2020, the 77-meter expedition yacht combines an ice-classed hull with accommodation for 12 guests. Its appeal lies in that combination: a comfortable base equipped for journeys into remote coastal and polar regions.
Extended time offshore shapes the design. Increased fuel capacity and onboard waste management support up to 40 days of autonomy, reducing the need to interrupt an itinerary with port calls. Helicopter hangars, expedition tenders, snow scooters, and a dive center with a decompression chamber provide the equipment for exploring above and below the water. Ice Class and IMO Polar Code engineering underpin its cold-weather capabilities.
Inside, six guest suites share the yacht with observation spaces designed around the scenery. Full-height windows bring the surroundings into the main saloon and observation lounge, while an upper observation deck offers open views. Two hot tubs, a sauna, steam bath, massage room, and gym make returning from a day outside part of the experience.
A crew of 25 supports the operation, from daily hospitality to the logistics of remote cruising. Y.CO currently lists charters from $750,000 per week. For that considerable sum, La Datcha offers a traveling base with the aircraft, boats, and underwater equipment to make each stop an expedition of its own.
