Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
The new Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K makes getting connected a little simpler. Its Direct Power feature draws electricity from a television’s USB port through the included cable, eliminating the separate wall adapter. Combined with a slimmer body, that makes for a tidier installation behind the screen and less hardware to pack when traveling.
The included remote gets a thoughtful redesign. A flat top and curved, weighted bottom help you recognize its orientation by feel. The home button has a distinct metal surface, while other controls use different shapes or indentations. A customizable star button opens a favorite app or activates selected settings, and dedicated buttons handle power, volume, and mute on compatible equipment.
The stick supports 4K video at up to 60 frames per second, with HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG. A quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, 8GB of storage, and Wi-Fi 6 handle streaming duties. It runs Amazon’s Vega operating system with the refreshed Fire TV interface and Alexa+ included.
Priced at $59.99, the new model is shipping now. Amazon has also announced a limited US price of $29.99 during Prime Big Deal Days. Buyers seeking Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos should look to the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
