Smart Bird Feeder
Most bird feeders are just boxes with holes. The Kiwibit Bird Feeder 2 is closer to a wildlife monitoring station disguised as a backyard shed. It combines a 4K ultra HD camera, solar power, AI species identification, and Wi Fi connectivity into a gable roofed housing that mounts to a pole, wall, or tree.
The camera is the core of it. A 132 degree wide angle lens streams live 4K video directly to your phone with no monthly fee for the live stream itself. Night vision extends coverage after dark, and the system records up to 24 hours before rolling over. You can invite up to three people to watch simultaneously, take screenshots, and save clips. Motion detection sends real time alerts the moment a bird lands, so you're not staring at an empty feeder all afternoon.
The AI identification system recognises over 10,000 bird species and organises recorded visits by species for easy browsing. That feature alone turns a casual feeder into something genuinely useful for anyone interested in tracking what actually visits their garden. The advanced AI features require a subscription, but the base live streaming and recording do not.
Power comes from a built in 4.4W solar panel backed by a 5200mAh removable battery, so it runs continuously without wiring or regular battery changes. The housing is IP65 waterproof and rated from minus 4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, built to stay outside year round. Two separate 1.5 litre seed containers sit under a lift up roof for easy refilling, and the whole unit is designed to come apart for cleaning.
It ships with wall mount, pole mount, and tree strap hardware included.
