Garmin have introduced a palm-sized version of their popular satellite communicator for adventures where size and weight matter. The small, rugged, and lightweight Garmin inReach Mini is perfect for when hiking in remote regions, making sure you stay connected when off the grid and out of cell phone range. The tiny but mighty device features auto location tracking, two-way messaging, access to maps, NOAA charts, and weather updates, plus the ability to send an emergency rescue signal to GEOS (international rescue coordination organization). No cell service required. There is also a built-in compass that shows bearing and distance along a route or to a waypoint, and a rechargeable battery that provides up to 50 hours of battery life. watch the video below
