Amazon Blink Security Cameras
Amazon's Blink has introduced its most ambitious security camera lineup yet, expanding beyond affordable home monitoring with sharper imaging, wider coverage, and impressive wireless range. The five new models include Blink's first 4K camera, a battery-powered spotlight system, a versatile pan-tilt camera, and two long-range options designed to monitor areas well beyond conventional Wi-Fi coverage. With prices starting at just $49.99, the collection offers a practical solution for everything from apartments to sprawling rural properties.
The headline addition is the Blink Mini 4K+, the brand's first 4K security camera. Despite its compact design, it delivers high-resolution video with a 115-degree horizontal field of view, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and an IP65 weather-resistant enclosure suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Two-way audio makes it possible to communicate through the camera, while optional subscription features include person and vehicle detection. Eligible subscribers can also access AI-generated video descriptions, offering a quick summary of recorded activity without having to review every clip. The Mini 4K+ starts at $79.99.
For outdoor protection after dark, the new Blink Spotlight Cam 2K+ combines 2K video recording with integrated motion-activated illumination. The battery-powered, wire-free design allows it to be installed near garages, side entrances, or garden gates without running electrical cables. Priced at $109.99, it's designed for homeowners who want better nighttime visibility alongside everyday security monitoring. Meanwhile, the $49.99 Blink Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ offers a more flexible viewing angle, with 350 degrees of horizontal movement and 115 degrees of tilt. Its ability to cover changing activity makes it particularly useful for larger rooms, driveways, and shared spaces, although outdoor installation requires a separate adapter.
The most technically interesting additions are the extended-range models. The Blink Outdoor 2K XR+ combines 2K video with a wireless connection that can reach up to 2,700 feet with a clear line of sight, or approximately 800 feet where some obstacles are present. Resolution can drop to 1080p at maximum-range settings. For even larger properties, the Blink Frontier XR+ pushes the connection distance to an extraordinary 7,000 feet under ideal open-air conditions. Designed for remote gates, outbuildings, livestock areas, and distant equipment, it relies on the dedicated Sync Module XR+ hub to achieve that range. One-camera systems start at $149.99 and $199.99 respectively, including the required hub.
All five cameras work within the Blink ecosystem, offering access to live video, motion notifications, and compatible smart home features through the Blink Home Monitor app. Certain advanced alerts, cloud features, and AI tools require a paid subscription, so buyers should consider ongoing costs when choosing a system. The collection also complements products such as the Blink Video Doorbell, which brings connected monitoring to the front entrance.
Rather than trying to make one camera suitable for every situation, Blink has created a lineup that addresses different monitoring needs. The Mini 4K+ prioritizes image detail, the Spotlight Cam 2K+ improves nighttime visibility, the Pan-Tilt 2K+ covers wider areas, and the XR+ models extend security monitoring to places where ordinary Wi-Fi cameras struggle. Available for preorder in the United States, the new Blink range makes connected home security more adaptable than ever.
