After two-plus years in the making, Wilson has launched the debut RF Collection, a line of tennis gear inspired, designed, and rigorously tested by Roger Federer himself. The collection's centerpiece is the RF 01 racket, crafted to complement Federera€tms versatile playing style and designed with the next generation of creative tennis players in mind.
Originally developed as a potential tool for Federer to extend his career, the project took an unexpected turn when he announced his retirement. However, Federer's commitment to the sport led him to continue refining the racket, ultimately resulting in a product that reflects his deep involvement and attention to detail.
The RF Collection features three rackets: the RF 01 PRO, built specifically for Federer and priced at $300 USD; the RF 01 at $280 USD; and the RF 01 FUTURE, aimed at younger and advanced players, priced at $260 USD. Each racket bears the iconic RF logo and transitions from black at the shaft to gunmetal at the head, symbolizing Federer's signature style.
Federer highlighted the extensive time and effort invested in perfecting these rackets, emphasizing how this process differed from the usual hurried development cycles in professional sports. The extra time allowed for a more thoughtful and thorough design, ensuring the rackets met his exacting standards.
The RF Collection also includes matching racket bags, backpacks, covers, grips, and dampeners, all available now on Wilson's website.
