The Heimplanet Mavericks 2026 Inflatable Expedition Tent turns an air-supported geodesic frame into a substantial expedition basecamp. With 13.2 square meters of floor space and two meters of interior headroom, it accommodates groups of up to ten people. The latest version draws on feedback from astrobiologist Dale Andersen’s Antarctic expeditions, bringing practical refinements to an already distinctive shelter.
The most significant changes address prolonged exposure to difficult weather. A new PFAS-free flysheet improves tear resistance, while attaching the roof’s center to the frame helps water drain and reduces snow accumulation. Revised ventilation openings offer better protection against wind and driving rain, and updated seams and stronger sealing tape target long-term durability.
Its inflatable structure also makes a shelter this size manageable for one person. The frame inflates through a single valve, then separates into ten independent air chambers, helping preserve stability if one section is damaged. Heimplanet specifies approximately ten minutes of inflation with a hand pump and says the geodesic structure is designed for winds up to 180 km/h.
Three entrances and three windows make the interior accessible, while a removable groundsheet adds flexibility for different basecamp setups. At 25kg, the Mavericks belongs in an expedition logistics plan rather than a hiking pack. The 2026 model is available to preorder, with shipping scheduled to begin in December 2026.
