Canopy House

Nestled within the heart of the rainforest, the Canopy House is an architectural marvel that harmoniously blends with its lush surroundings. Designed by Architecture studio MK27 to minimize environmental impact, this elevated white prism sits delicately on stilts, ensuring the natural terrain remains undisturbed. Accessed via a spiral staircase, the home offers a radical immersion into the elements, with spaces connected entirely by open-air transitions that embrace the sounds, smells, and light of the jungle.

A rooftop platform provides breathtaking views of the treetops, while sliding glass panels create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Inside, the design celebrates Brazilian culture with handcrafted details, contemporary furnishings, and locally inspired textures. Unique cobogos cast shifting patterns of light throughout the day, adding an ever-changing artistic dimension. The Canopy House is more than a home, it is a tribute to Brazil's vibrant nature and cultural richness.

Set on a rare plot between two hills in southern Brazil, it sits right at the edge of the urban grid while still feeling completely removed from it. The architecture leans into that tension. Clean, geometric volumes appear to float above the terrain, finished in charred wood that gives the house a quiet, al...
