Barcelona Industrial Loft

This spectacular loft apartment is a refurbishment of an old carpenter’s workshop located in Barcelona’s Poble Sec neighbourhood. Designed by Spanish architectural studio FFWD, the team defined that the main goal was to set up the space for habitation while preserving the existing structural components, and its charm and singularity. They restored the building´s brick and stone walls, the wooden beams in the ceiling, and covered the floor with a concrete lining. The property has multiple light openings, and the inner patio is connected to the main spaces of the house. The singularity of the house lies in the combination of materials and styles, with exposed bricks beautifully complemented with concrete finishes and wooden furniture.

Casa Mavra

Casa Mavra is less about decoration and more about presence. The use of raw materials and controlled geometry puts it closer to projects like the Shoreline House, where architecture works with the landscape rather than trying to dominate it. The sequence into the home is what stands out. That long approach, defined by a rising wall and water running alongside the stairs, creates a sense of transition that feels deliberate and slow. It is a similar kin...

FLOATING HOUSE | BY MOS ARCHITECTS

Less is more, MOS Office translated into architecture all the simplicity of a landscape with trees, rocks and a huge frozen lake. Built on the icy waters of Lake Huron, in Pointe au Baril city in Ontario, Canada, is the Floating House, it demands more pictures than words. Made entirely of wood - as a continuation of the deck that connects to the nearby cliff - the residence floats on a steel frame sized to guarantee stability in the different water levels....
