stuff we drool about

Disintegrating Series

Disintagrating Series is a set of HD photos that lead us to believe that high performance cars are disintegrating, and doing it in super slow mo and high def detail, this really triggers our morbid curiosity… who doesn’t love a good nice blow up of a super fast car? This artform also allows us to grasp at the complexity of these machines and make us aware of the time and effort that’s put into building them. This will set a pair of conflicting emotions, the thrill of the explosion, and the work and effort put to waste. A cool concept that also takes a huge amount of work and patience from Swiss photographer Fabian Oefner, each picture implies a minimum of 2 months work and more than 2000 clicks on his high tech camera, photographing each component, piece by piece in a very specific position, to create the illusion of an exploding automobile. Respect! watch the "making-of” video below

Several cars are available in this limited edition, including the Auto Union Type C, the Maserati 250F, a Ford GT40, the Bugatti 57 SC, and a Porsche 956. Each image is available in either 140x70cm print or 230x115cm print.
