stuff we drool about

Avocado Cabin

The awesome Avocado Cabin sits on a 60 hectare regenerative farm in the Banhoek Valley, less than an hour from Cape Town and eight minutes from Stellenbosch. It is a proper disconnect without the long drive to get there.

The cabin overlooks a dam with mountain views in every direction. Inside, the open plan space runs high ceilings and full height glass doors that open onto a wraparound deck. There is a fireplace, a four seater dining table, a deep couch, and a reading nook by the window that doubles as a sleeping pod for kids or an extra guest. The kitchenette is fully equipped with a Nespresso machine, SMEG kettle and toaster, gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer, and dishwasher. The bedroom has a queen bed with luxury linen and glass doors straight onto the deck, with aircon and fan for summer and electric blankets for winter.

Outside is where the cabin earns its keep. The deck has sun loungers, cargo nets, a hot tub, and a fire pit with views over two dams. A short walk down from the cabin is a sauna and ice bath, both included at no extra charge. The sauna heats up fast and the views from there alone are worth the stay.

The surrounding farm offers hiking trails and swimming in the dams, and Stellenbosch's wine farms and restaurants are a quick drive away. Rainbow's End, Bartinney, and Oldenburg Vineyard are all within easy reach. Massages can be booked directly to the cabin.
