360-Degree Rooftop Infinity Pool

UK-based pool manufacturer Compass Pools has revealed plans that are underway to build the world´s first rooftop 360-degree infinity pool to tower above London. Slated to sit atop a 720-foot 55-story building, the 600,000-liter pool is entirely made of cast acrylic, allowing swimmers a clear view of the city skyline, as well as the five-star hotel underneath. The bottom of the pool is also designed to be transparent, so it could act as a skylight. At night it will light up with color-changing lights to give the tower the appearance of a sparkling jewel at night. Swimmers will access the pool through a rotating spiral staircase based on the door of a submarine, rising from the pool floor when someone wants to get in or out. Named Infinity London Tower, the ambitious project could kick off construction as early as 2020.
