Magrette Moana Pacific Professional
Magrette is a recent watch brand from New Zealand. It was founded by Dion Wynyard McAsey, a guy with a huge passion for timepieces and influenced by 1940s military style watches & 1970s dive watches. We were lucky enough to get our hands on one of their most successful models, the Moana Pacific Diver. Check out some more details and photos below...
Magrette timepieces are strong, robust and made for everyday wear. Their design is based on "classic modern". They only use mechanical movements and only produce small batches at a time. The result are excellent value and quality timepieces sold in limited editions, each with its own serial number.
The hefty Magrette Moana Pacific Professional comes in a nice wooden box with the beautiful Maori-inspired logo on the cover, the watch comes wrapped in a nice roll case made of heavy duty canvas. Also in the box you´ll find the owner´s details booklet with the watch details and serial number.
The Moana Pacific comes in a 44mm wide, black PVD case, and features a black dial with unique color accents that combine beautifully with the matte finished ceramic bezel for a striking sporty look. It has a reliable Japanese Miyota automatic movement powering the watch and features automatic winding and hand winding, giving it a running time of more than 42 hours when fully wound. A double domed Sapphire crystal plus a pressure escape valve are also featured for enhanced diving. Some other features include brushed/polished case finish, C3 Super Luminova hands and dial, and water-resistance to 500m/1650ft.
Overall we love this watch, its ruggedness, its attractive retro-inspired dial, its Italian vintage feel and most of all its character, that you simply cannot find at this price. Moana Pacific appeals to both dedicated watch lovers and those simply looking for a reasonably priced, but unique, watch.
The watch is available with black rubber strap or with black leather strap for $595. You can also order both with the watch for $630. The watch itself is offered in three color combinations: Stainless steel with a blue dial, Black PVD with a black dial(featured here) and Rose gold PVD with a gray dial.
