The Danner MTN45 Hiking Shoe blends classic mountain style with modern performance engineering, creating a trail ready hiker built for serious mileage. Inspired by the brand’s legendary Mountain Light boot, the MTN45 pairs a rugged leather upper with advanced cushioning and grip designed to handle everything from rocky alpine routes to multi day backpacking trips.

At the core of the shoe is Danner’s EnduroFoam Plus midsole, a nitrogen infused cushioning system designed to deliver strong rebound and long lasting support. The added energy return helps reduce fatigue on long climbs and extended days on the trail. Underfoot, a TPU rock plate provides protection and stability across uneven terrain.

Traction comes from a Vibram Megagrip N45 Plus outsole with deep lugs and an expanded traction platform that improves stability on loose or wet surfaces. A LIBA Smart TPU mudguard adds durability while helping keep dirt and debris at bay.

The nubuck leather upper offers impressive durability with a soft velvet like texture and a shorter break in period, while a breathable mesh lining improves airflow. Inside, a removable OrthoLite footbed provides layered cushioning and moisture control for all day comfort.

Built on the DT6 last with a slightly wider forefoot and an 8 mm heel to toe offset inspired by trail running shoes, the MTN45 strikes a balance between performance and everyday wearability. Like many of Danner’s best designs, it is also recraftable, meaning it can be rebuilt for years of use.
