Patagonia PowSlayer Freeride Kit
After nearly a decade of testing and refinement, Patagonia just released its most advanced backcountry setup yet, the PowSlayer Freeride Kit. Purpose-built for big-mountain riders, this fourth-generation update redefines what high-performance ski gear should feel like, balancing protection, breathability, and sustainability in one sleek system.
At the heart of the kit are the redesigned PowSlayer Jacket and Pants, now crafted with Gore-Tex ePe PFAS-free fabric, offering elite waterproofing and wind protection without the environmental footprint of older materials. The fabric cuts about 30% of the jacket’s weight while enhancing mobility and ventilation, making it perfect for everything from pre-dawn climbs to storm-day descents.
Thoughtful upgrades include an articulated fit, stretch-hood panels that easily fit over helmets, and a smart pocket layout big enough for skins, gloves, or snacks. Built-in RECCO reflectors and watertight zippers add an extra layer of safety and weatherproof reliability.
Beyond the shell, Patagonia has expanded the collection into a complete freeride layering system, featuring the Nano Air Ultralight Freeride Jacket, Capilene thermal base layers, and the DAS Light Skirt and Shorts for quick insulation during transitions.
Tested across resorts and backcountry lines, the Patagonia PowSlayer Freeride Kit is lighter, tougher, and more eco-conscious than ever, a true masterpiece for serious skiers and snowboarders chasing deep snow and big days.
