Freescape Adventure Camper
The Freescape Adventure Camper is one of those rare builds that actually feels new. After seeing more camper vans than we can count, this one stopped us in our tracks. The reason is simple. Freescape did not just tweak an existing layout. They rethought how space should work in a compact adventure van.
The headline feature is the patented inflatable pop up roof that expands to the side instead of straight up. With the push of a button, the roof tilts toward the driver side and inflates into a full size sleeping area measuring 79 x 55 inches. That extra width matters. Even better, the bed sits over the side of the van, leaving full standing height inside at all times. In our view, this is a smart solution that fixes one of the biggest compromises in pop top campers. It also doubles as an integrated awning, adding shade and weather protection without extra gear.
Downstairs, the flexible floor plan is just as impressive. A sliding kitchen block moves across the cabin or out the side door for outdoor cooking. Seats fold flat into a second bed, and modular rear storage can be removed to make room for bikes or boards. Power comes from a serious off grid setup with solar, lithium battery, and inverter, plus fresh water and an outdoor shower.
Built on an all wheel drive Ford Tourneo Custom, the Freescape Adventure Camper feels equally suited to daily driving and long escapes. It is different in the best way, and that is exactly what this segment needs.
