Cixi Vigoz Trike
French e-mobility innovator Cixi is pushing the limits of pedal-powered transport with the Vigoz, a futuristic three-wheeled trike capable of reaching highway speeds. Designed and developed in Annecy, France, this sleek, fully enclosed pedal car combines the ergonomics of a recumbent bike with the comfort and safety of a compact electric vehicle.
At the heart of the Vigoz lies Cixi’s groundbreaking Pedaling Energy Recovery System (PERS), a chainless drivetrain that converts pedal power into electricity. Instead of turning a chain, your pedaling generates energy that powers a hub motor and charges a 22 kWh battery, delivering up to 160 km (100 miles) of range and speeds of up to 120 km/h (75 mph). The system even adjusts pedal resistance in real time, letting you control effort while regenerative braking recovers energy on the go.
Inside, the rider sits in a relaxed recumbent position with SUV-level visibility, steering via low-mounted handles and aided by an active tilting system for smooth cornering. There’s space behind for a passenger, pet, or cargo, all secured within a safety-focused chassis featuring energy-absorbing elements, three-point seatbelts, and HVAC climate control.
Currently in its final development phase, the Cixi Vigoz represents a new category of sustainable mobility, merging the freedom of cycling with the performance and protection of an electric vehicle. It’s not just a trike, it’s the future of human-powered transport.
