Boiler Coffee Shop
Tucked into a narrow gap on Bucharest's Bazilescu Street, Boiler Coffee's newest location, nicknamed The Chapel, is a stunning example of how smart design can transform forgotten urban corners. Created by Romanian architecture studio Vinklu, this glass-and-steel triangle of calm turns a sliver of space into a luminous coffee shop that glows like a beacon by night and blends with the city by day.
Wrapped in triple-glazed glass and lined with warm timber inside, the building offers a seamless connection between interior and street. The angular form isn't just eye-catching—it creates vertical drama and an airy sense of space despite the cafe's modest footprint. It is perfect for a quick coffee on the go or a quiet pause in the middle of the city rush.
Boiler - The Chapel isn't just another cafe. It is a case study in how meaningful design can bring life to overlooked places, proving you don't need a huge plot to make a big impression. Every inch here is intentional, from the natural light to the subtle warmth of materials. And at night, when it lights up, it becomes a sculptural presence on the street, equal parts coffee shop and urban art.
With this project, Boiler Coffee and Vinklu remind us that great architecture doesn't need to shout. Sometimes, it just needs a small space and a clever idea.
