Facebook Portal

Social media giant Facebook have announced Portal, a smart, hands-free video calling device with Alexa built-in. The fancy gadget is designed to make you feel closer to the important people in your life, it is available in two sizes Portal (has a 10-inch display) and Portal+ (boasts a whopping 15-inch pivoting display, which automatically pans and zooms on calls), and both hands-free devices have cameras and microphones for video calls to Facebook friends. The device tracks your position and the camera can follow you if you move around, also zooming in or out if another person joins you on the call, meaning everyone will always be in the frame. When you are not on a call, Portal displays photos, videos, and important events. With Amazon Alexa built-in, you can ask a question, check the weather, or set the mood. Beyond chat, Facebook has built a grip of third-party experiences into Portal, Spotify, Pandora, or IHeartRadio for music, or The Food Network and Newsy for food recipes.
