Buried beneath a mound of earth at a Dutch nature reserve is a woodland villa called Dutch Mountain designed by Amsterdam design studio Denieuwegeneratie. Only half the house is visible, the other half cuts trough a hill, this both camouflages and uses the earth as thermal insulation. The house as many original features, and is full of surprises, notable features are the vintage Jaguar transformed into a bookshelf, a teapot chandelier and skateboards used as staircase steps.

We are big fans of SATA, we have featured before the "First Crescent", a stunning minimalist home also in South Africa. Nettleton 199 is positioned in Cape Town, on the side of Lion’s Head and has fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean, it was designed to maximize the connection with the view and the sea and to create a garden beside the mountain located near the site. The garden has views trough the living room capturing the dramatic views.

Our friends John and Betsy Ryland have contacted us to let us know they have added some new pieces to the collection, a table ($1,499), a table lamp ($199) and a floor lamp ($429). All pieces are custom made from retired components from up to three different vintage motorcycles.
